Jasper Pendant Design as a Japanese Landscape with an Octopus Kami

The photo is of the jasper pendant with a design of a Japanese landscape and an giant octopus kami in the waterfall, Akkorokamui, in the waterfall. It’s in bronze and about 2.5” high.

Jean Marie Ward saw the stunning stone on laurieopal and commissioned it. She wrote me this lovely note when she received it. (I have her permission to reproduce it here.) I don’t usually post my thank you notes, but I made an exception for this one.The kami was her idea and I was delighted with it. It doesn’t show up nearly as well in the photo as in life but this is a close up of it. And, as I said in an earlier post, it's magical so it can be in fresh water.

“The pendant is gorgeous. It arrived Friday, and I happily changed my planned top for my evening Balticon panel to show it off. I messaged a photo to your phone, but I can't tell from mine if it arrived. Having it for that panel was great, but it really came into its own the following day.
Saturday, Greg and I attended the covid-postponed wedding of a dear friend. It was supposed to be a summery outdoor wedding. Then the DC area got slammed with rain and 50 degree days Friday night, all day Saturday and most of today. (We're still in the 50s, but at least the rain stopped.) So my planned outfit had to be changed Saturday a.m., and the dress that seemed most appropriate to the new indoor venue was the one I bought earlier this year to match the jasper. They went together perfectly! I received so many compliments, and I was actually warm. ;-) Thank you again and again.”
