Feathered Dinosaur for Pendant
Oct. 26th, 2020 11:37 pmI've been looking at images of feathered dinosaurs for a long time (measured in years) to find one that worked for me design a pendant. I love this image. It's called Ambopteryx.
"During a blip in time in the late Jurassic, a dinosaur that weighed no more than a chinchilla flung itself from tree to tree, spread its wings and tried to soar. In theory, it sounds beautiful — an early attempt at flight before birds figured out the blueprint."
The authors of this article in the Times quoted the scientist as feeling like they were clumsy. Then he compared them to flying squirrels - very graceful creatures. These dinosaurs strike me as graceful and beautiful and I'm really looking forward to working on the designs.
I'll probably make it in bronze in small numbers.
But first the final technical work on the fantasy map sculpture. It's looking beautiful and I'm really ready to be finished with the wax.
