The glass is a beautiful dichroic glass by Nancy Pealrman. I feel very lucky to have it to design for.  The photo is OK but the faceted stones are far more brilliant than the  photo. The glass, on the other hand, photographed beautifully. And, while the design is more detailed in life, the photo gives a good sense of it.

I was a serious pleasure to make.  It's about 2" high in very dark sterling silver. And is from the collection of Bayla Fine.

It's the first major stick pin design I've ever done and it worked out beautifully. I'm certainly going to design more in the future. I have a beautiful opal that will probably be next.

Today I was going over work for Chicago to decide which of may smaller designs I need to make. It's a reasonable amount of work but not scarey.

Also working on three rings with exceptionally lovely stones.  But I'll work on them separately from everything else. Design work in wax doesn't mix well with anything else.

I've finished the earpiece with the stunning opal with lots of red, and almosr finished the stick pin with the amazing dichroic glass by Nancy Pearlman. The stick pin is also set with a purple sapphire and 3 peridots. I'm _extremely_ happy with the designs. The photos will go up after the commissions are received.

And I've finished these new pieces for Chicago (Chicon).

I'm going back to work now to polish a wave and sky setting for a beautiful druze stone and the arrowhead ring.

These stones only photographed OK. They are both more vivid and far more alive then I was able to capture.

This one is dichroic glass by Nancy Pearlman. The turquoise moves inside the stone is ways that could remind one of the northern lights. I am definitely adding very small turquoise diamonds into the final design.

This is hyalite that also had far more movement but the photo is still OK. It's a stunning very different form of opal.

I'm going to  be taking a while on these. They are both commissions and they are both really exciting to work with.  And I'm also working on new designs for Chicago today.

Because of some airplane complications it took longer than usual to recover. But I'm back at work, working on commissions and getting ready for Chicon in September.

I really enjoyed Balticon and am planning to be there next year. It was really good to see folks after such along time.

Lots more later - including photos of two fascinating commission stone I'll be designing for that I got in Baltimore.

Will put up more work soon.
