..

I put this dragonfly pendant away for Simran quite a while ago and just sent it to her registered mail. She sent me this photo to let me know that it had arrived, with a note that said:

"It arrived!!!!

Thank you!"

I thought it looked really lovely on her.  The body is a stunning opal and the head is a deep red antique Hungarian garnet.

And a side bar about the painting that I thought I would share:

"Side note:
The photo was taken in my mom’s kitchen, and the painting on the wall behind me was painted by my grandmother. My mom’s mom was a medical illustrator when young, and would pick up painting commissions for most of the time I knew her, mainly compositions incorporating people’s photos. The still life was likely created in a class (she was a lifelong learner)."

I thought the painting quite beautiful.

I'm working on some waxes for jewelry I'll be bringing to folks at Balticon on Memorial Weekend. The photos will not go up til after they receive them. It's keeping me very creatively busy.

It's late and this is going to be a tired post. I'm leaving for Wiscon the day after tomorrow and am working hard at finishing up getting ready. I have a collection of glorious new stones from my lapidary including fossilized dinosaur bone, a stunning pietersite, and a vivid korite opal.

And a group of new designs that I'm really happy with.

I'll be doing my Memory Landscapes panel as well but I'll write about that tomorrow. Tonight my mind is rather fixed on jewelry.

I very recently finished this dragonfly cuff. From the collection of Fred Teti:

It's silver with the dragonfly's head a garnet and the stone on the tail is a very vivid opal.

Good night.  Looking forward to seeing lots of folks I like at Wiscon.

I just finished setting the stones for the rings for Detcon1. They include a stunning Lloyd Eshbach blue tiger eye, a Peruvian opal, and a brilliant peridot.

Also finished but not set is the Baltic water shaped amber. I love the textures and the shadows in it.

I'm also making a black silver dragonfly with yellow gold wings set with a small black opal and a faceted garnet. Faceted garnets make great dragonfly eyes.

Also getting three photographs ready for the art show. Two nudes of Bernadette Bosky (She's one of the guests of honor.) from my book "Women En Large: Images of Fat Nudes" and one of Samuel R. Delany from "Familiar Men: A Book of Nudes".

I'm becoming seriously frazzled but it will all get done. Staring to look forward to seeing everyone there. And I get to go to the Sojourner Truth Museum!! More about that later.

I photographed the octopus ring with the sapphire and the black diamonds and it came out well!  It's 2" long and I can't wait to put up the photo but it will have to wait til the woman who commissioned it sees the ring.

The Chinese cliff, waterfall and pine tree design for a lovely black and light green jade has cast beautifully.  It still needs to be polished and have the stone set.

And I've finished the pearl winged dragonfly.

And I wanted to remind folks that I won't be at Norwescon.  I will be in Seattle later in the year so get in touch if you's like to see me when I'm ther
