laurieopalI've finished the new group of pendants for World Fantasy and I'm now (hopefully soon) finishing the polishing of my smaller work.
Then I will be designing some pendants with pearls and semi precious stones and antique beads. It reminds me of working for my grandmother in her shop in the Greenwich Village in New York when I was 19. She made jewelry from antique materials that was really beautiful. She was well known in the Village and often written about.
I'm working on carving a design with very vivid sequin like chalcopyrite and a design with a sonora sunset - turquoise and deep red.
My car is sunning himself under my drafting lamp and sleeping and sulking a bit because I'm working and he isn't getting petted.
The pendant below is a Ray Mine Gem Silica Druze and the colors are remarkable. I've been saving this stone for along time but decided it was time to work with it. It's silver about 3" high.
