Flame Tiger Eye

I finished the flame tiger eye pendant and the bronzite pendant, both in bronze. They still need to be polished and set. It will be a while, but I'm looking forward to seeing these designs completed. The only problem with my technique is that it takes a lot of time in all stages. The wax carving, of course, takes the longest.

This is the first tiger eye I've ever seen with internal flames. The photo gives a really good idea of the stone. The little bit of white is light reflection.
I'm working on the dichroic glass stick pin - it's going to take a while but I'm very happy with the direction it's going in. "A dichroic material is a modern composite non-translucent glass that is produced by stacking layers of metal oxides which give the glass shifting colors depending on the angle of view, causing an array of colors to be displayed as an example of thin-film optics." I'm very fortunate to have a few pieces of Nancy Pearlman's work.
I'm working on some new designs for Balticon. It's getting very busy.
