Sculpture with Cameos

laurieopalI've been working on a bronze sculpture with antique cameos for Nancy Jane Moore. I've finally just about finished carving it. It's a small sculpture (as are all of mine) that will be in bronze. .
It's a bit influenced by the work of Henry Moore without really resembling the work except in an abstract sense. I love the contrast with the antique cameo's. the bronze will be have both patina and high polish, unless I change my mind when I see it after it's cast.
And I've been carving a pair of earrings (slightly different from each other) to match a saguero cactus pendant I've made for Wendy Czarnecki.
They are looking beautiful. Getting the texture of the cactus is interesting and giving a sense of the size of the cactus in jewelry took a lot of figuring out. Below is a photo of the pendant. I'll post a photo of the earrings when they are finished.
I'm going back to my bench now.
