I have just spent too much time trying to photograph 2 stunning stones that I'm finishing designs for in wax.

Sometimes you can't capture the essence of a stone and this was one of those times. The photo below of the red tiger iron looks quite beautiful but the stone is far more stunning.

Actual size is abut 1.5" almost square. The black and dark brown lines are actually much closer to an iridescent black and the setting will be a blackened silver that reflects this. And the stone itself has a vivid chatoyance.

And I've been working on a "floral" pietersite that has a flower like pattern with lots of blue iridescence and is not photographable usefully.  At least not without spending some serious art time on it and I use that kind of time only for art.

I've also almost finished in wax a "Steven Universe" inspired ring. It's set with a garnet, ruby and sapphire. If you are not familiar the animated show it takes some explanation and I will write about it next time.

And to change the subject completely here is a photo of my cat George feeling chilled which is more than i do at the moment.
