Steven Universe Ring

I made this ring from episode 49 of the Steven Universe cartoon. The ring design is mine, but the stone combination with garnet on top and the ruby and sapphire placement is crucial to the on going story. I've always liked Steven Universe at lot; among other things, it's clever and queer friendly.
The garnet is one of the last of my antique Hungarian garnets. The mines have been gone for a very long time. Stone is probably about a hundred years old. I wanted a simple elegant design that showed the relationship of the stones in the story. (The plot is in the link and it's available on several streaming services.) The ring was made for Guy Gayle. (Taking of course his hand shape into consideration.) I took the photos too fast becasue I was sending it to him very shortly. This one is reflective of the ring but not a great photo.
I was really happy with the ring as was Guy. When we are finally over this, I'm looking forward to seeing it on him.
My spinel and rubies pendant design and my Ethiopian pendant design are ready to be cast. There is still a lot of work in the polishing and setting. There will be photos when they are done. Unless the opal stays unphotographble when set. (Check the previous post.)
I've been working forever on a sculpture that I'll be writing about later (possibly much later) And thinking about an Ethiopian opal ring I'll be working on soon. Most of the design goes on in the back of my brain over time before I actually sit down at my wax table.
