Burmese Jade

I'm making a pendant with this Burmese jade for Brenda Clough. Her parents brought it from China a very long time ago.

It's a lovely carving of flowers and a bird. The actual color is a more typical Burmese jade color, with more olive than I was able to photograph. The pendant design is leaves and flowers and I plan to wind it with pearls that were also brought from China by her family a very long time ago.

The work is influenced by early 20th century Chinese jewelry design.

The jade is beautiful and I'm finding it inspiring to work with.
