Glowing Pietersite

laurieopalI'm glad that I'm living somewhere that is "sheltering in place" but some times it makes it hard to concentrate on my art. My cat, George, on the other hand is loving having someone here all the time.
I've finished in wax a pietersite pendant for Marsha Jones. A photo of the stone is below. It's from South Africa. It's related to charoite and tiger eye among others. It's almost opal like in the way the stone changes and the lights move inside it. I'm thinking of seeing if i can make a video of that.
The design for the stone is in bronze and it picks up the subtle bronze/gold lights in the stone.
Actual size is about 2.5". There will be a photo when it is finished.
I've been working on the golden pearl and cinnamon diamond earrings and several other designs as well. And am thinking about a design for a stunning black opal pendant.
I love stones that are alive.
