Pietersite in Bronze

laurieopalThis pendant is a gorgeous pietersite set in bronze. I wanted the bronze to reflect the gold in the stone and I wanted a texture and design that was fine design on it's own but would also complement the stone. I am very partial to pietersites. They are vivid and have a molten quality that is quite beautiful.
The pendant is about 2.5" high and is in the collection of Marsha Jones.
I'm finishing two designs that are cast in sterling right now. I've just finished the final delicate polishing them tonight. There are so many little subtle places that need special work. I should have photos of them in a few weeks. And I'll have a photo of a very different pietersite set in sterling fairly soon. I always have to wait for folks to get their designs before i put the photos up.
So right now I am dreaming about pietersites and opals.
